Abstract:  This talk will begin with an overview of the new structure and will explore the key updates and enhancements introduced in the Fifth Edition of the INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook (SEH5E) with a focus on the evolving challenges and the need for improved systems engineering approaches. Whether you are a practitioner, educator, or aspiring SEP-certified professional, this session will provide valuable insights into how SEH5E supports the future of systems engineering. 

Biography: Bernardo Delicado is a seasoned systems engineer with 33 years of experience in the aerospace and defense sectors. He has held senior roles in the UK, France, Germany, and Spain across top organizations such as INTA ( aerospace research institute) , Airbus Defense and Space, MBDA Missile Systems, and Indra Sistemas, contributing to major multinational projects like military aircraft programs, space programs, missile systems programs and the Future Combat Air System (FCAS).
He is an Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP) with a PhD in Interdisciplinary Engineering, an M.S. in Physics, and a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering. He was Academic Equivalency Coordinator at INCOSE Certification Advisory Group (2021-2023) and member of the Editorial Board for INCOSE SEH5E (2019-2023), and Outreach Director at INCOSE Board of Directors (2024-2025). Currently he is editor of SEBoK Part 5 (Enabling Systems Engineering) since 2016.
